Boof[]
Shorthand for the Book of Life Soul Card. (Also because the writing on the card itself looks a bit like "Boof of Life".)

Bullet boosting[]
In Neon White, you receive a small burst of speed whenever you hit an enemy's bullet, either by parrying it with a Katana attack or shooting through it with a bullet, causing a "ring" effect to appear where it was shot - this is called bullet boosting, and can happen both on the ground and in the air.
Interestingly, you can get this speed boost from parrying your own Purify bombs.
Coyote jump[]
When you walk off a surface, you are allowed a small grace period within which you still have time to jump; this is called "coyote time", and jumping within this period is a coyote jump.
