Ace Medal

Medals are awards for completing Missions in Neon White; ingame, they are proof of completion of a mission. Certain medals can be obtained for attaining certain times in a level, and they run the gamut from Bronze to Red Ace. Receiving a Gold or better in a level raises Neon White's Neon Rank up by 1, which allows him to proceed through the story as he unlocks missions from Gabby and Mikey, as well as awarding Insight for the level, providing gift information, shortcut information, leaderboard access and ghost playback during the mission.

The medals are as follows:

Image Medal Description
Bronze Medal Bronze Medal Obtained if the player fails to reach any of the target times of the level.
Silver Medal Silver Medal Obtained if the player meets the minimum target time; obtaining this does not award anything.
Gold Medal Gold Medal Obtained if the player meets the penultimate target rank; obtaining this raises White's Neon Rank by 1.
Ace Medal Ace Medal Obtained if the player meets the final target rank; obtaining this raises White's Neon Rank by 1.
Red Medal Red Medal Obtained if the player beats the static time set by the developer (torahhorse/Ben Esposito), which is hidden until beaten; obtaining this awards bragging rights.

The Red Medal has many names among the playerbase, possibly including but not limited to:

Note that the time that needs to be beaten to obtain the Red Medal is unchanging; it is not torahhorse's time in the leaderboard that you need to beat - that is a different time. It is, however, different between PC and Switch, and the Switch times were obtained with gyro and aim assist on.
