Neon Green is one of the Neons competing with Neon White in Neon White.

He has a very intense personality, and does not suffer fools gladly. He is intimidating and extremely strong-willed, and will not hesitate to use or flatten anyone in his path to get what he wants, including and not limited to the use of force. However, he also has a cunning side to bolster his strength, taking joy in fighting and taunting his opponents.

Role[]

Like other Neon characters, he is an assassin from Hell recruited to deal with a demon infestation in Heaven. The fastest of these assassins will win the Mechanical Halo and will be able to stay in Heaven.

Neon Green has been the winner of the tournament for several consecutive years prior to the events of the game; little is known about him at first. He is first shown in Chapter 2, when he enters the Cathedral and is introduced by the Believers as the previous year's winner. He attacks other Neon who doubts his strength, and the overall reactions of Neon Violet, Neon Red and Neon Yellow indicate he is dangerous, though Neon White feels an anger upon seeing him that he cannot place the source of; Red tells him not to fight Green, as he will lose if he were to do so. In Chapter 3 White is told that Green kills other Neons, but still feels the urge to confront Green.

He appears in Chapter 4; knowing The Old City is Green's territory, and the place where his Mechanical Halo was forged; Green lies in wait for White, knowing he will show up. Green kills Yellow in an attack meant for White, angering White; a duel ensues between the two, which Green greatly enjoys. Green tells White of his plans to obtain the Book of Life, and implying he and White were deeply connected in life, tells him that he has plans for White. At the sermon at the Cathedral afterwards, Green singles out White directly, and announces to the congregation that White had killed Yellow at the Old City.

In Chapter 5, it is revealed that Green's Mechanical Halo not only has made him much more vicious and bloodthirsty, but has kept him under the influence of the Believers. Green singles out White once again at a sermon after Chapter 6, telling him to meet at the Hanging Gardens.

White is assigned to the Hanging Gardens and encounters Green in Chapter 7; left in the dark by Red, he pushes Green for answers, to which Green responds with further taunting. White chases down Green and catches up just before Mimic; however, Red shows up, landing a shot directly to Green's mask, though Green catches Red and holds up by the throat, telling her it will end "the same way as in life", further implying a connection between Red, White and Green. Green eventually lets Red go, telling White to go to Heaven's Edge to find what he seeks.

Green does not appear again in the main story until Chapter 10 to retrieve the Book of Life, by which point White knows the truth about Green as well as the truth about the nature of Heaven. Violet and Red are also present; Violet had shown up previously with a page from the Book of Life and had been waiting for White to show up to open the Hand of God containing the Book of Life for her, while Red had arrived with White. Violet detonates explosives near Red and White; Red falls through the floor and disappears, though White is unharmed. Green appears, and stabs Violet with his sword once she gives him the Book of Life, stating she is no longer of use to him.

Another fight ensues between Green and White, and White destroys Green's Mechanical Halo; a mortally wounded Violet shows up and detonates several explosives to hinder Green's plans, destroying both herself and the Book of Life in the process, scattering its pages to the wind.

Now no longer under the control of the Believers without the Mechanical Halo, Green goes on a rampage through Central Heaven and steals the Book of Death; in the process, he indiscriminately kills both Neons and Believers alike, beginning his plans to destroy Heaven.

White reforms the Book of Life, and finds Green waiting at the Glass Port in Chapter 12. Green tells White of his plan to expel God's life force from Heaven through a hole in The Firmament, the walls of Heaven, using his collection of Neon masks as explosives. They meet for the final time in the Coliseum, the location of God's other hand, in Absolution; Red sacrifices herself to set off Green's mask collection and blow a hole in the Firmament to further White's plans to bring God back into Heaven through the Firmament.

One final duel takes place between White and Green in the ruins of the Glass Port. White emerges victorious, and begins the process of bringing God back through The Firmament with the help of the Angels, and is faced with a choice; write Green into the Book of Life, or the Book of Death. If White chooses to write Green into the Book of Life, both they and Yellow, Red and Violet, ascend into another existence. If White chooses to write Green into the Book of Death, White remains in Sheol, waiting for God's next Judgement Day.

In Life[]

Green was the leader of a group of assassins consisting of White, Red, Yellow, Violet, and himself. Before this, he worked under Blue, an assassin unseen in the game; Blue abandoned Green, took the money and left him to die during a heist, and this left Green resentful, forming a grudge that would never dissipate.

During his time as a leader of the group of assassins, he trained every one of them, though favoured White over the others, seeing him as someone he could mold into a perfect student; he saw Red as too stubborn and strong-willed to break into his own student and Violet as young and unreliable, and knowing the group's faith in White, made White his own student in the knowledge they would follow White. His tutelage on all of them was extremely harsh and unforgiving, and he rarely if ever showed any praise or affection to any of his group, favouring negative reinforcement over all else.

For a while, the group carried out various jobs and assassinations, but over time, Green's behaviour grew increasingly erratic; his grudge against Blue only grew worse over time, and eventually, Green proposed they carry a heist on Blue's mansion and kill Blue in revenge. The group was hesitant on the idea, and even White showed doubt - however, Green forcefully asserted his position, and White backed down, and he convinced the others to go along with the heist plan.

However, just before the heist, Green tipped Blue off that they were coming, for the "challenge" of it; he did not tell any of the other assassins this, and kept them under the impression it would be an "easy in, easy out" job. The heist went awry, and while Green managed to kill Blue, every single member of his group was killed, and Green died alongside Red and White, surrounded by Blue's guards.
